On Tuesday, 2nd December, the 4th-grade classes enjoyed an exciting trip to the CityDome cinema in Darmstadt to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The story, written by Roald Dahl, is one they recently explored in English class, making the experience even more meaningful.
Seeing the characters and scenes they had imagined brought the book to life in a new way—Willy Wonka’s colourful factory and the children’s wild adventures, sparked plenty of excitement in the theatre. After the film, students discussed the similarities and differences between the book and the movie and shared their favourite moments from the story.
It was a wonderful outing that connected classroom learning with a memorable real-world experience, leaving everyone with a touch of chocolate-fuelled inspiration!
